Beard was awarded the contract to construct a 30 acre site consisting of three brine pond storage facility to support an underground gas storage cavern. The brine ponds included primary east pond, a primary west pond and a secondary pond all lined with a conductive HDPE liner for leak detection. The facility will be adding a compressor station and for the storage and transport of natural gas.

Scope of Work

Erosion and sedimentation control—silt fence, berms and grading and hay placement

Clearing, grubbing the 30 acre site

Removal of 31,468 CY of topsoil

Installation of 964 LF of 12” RCP an 18” carbon steel pipe with HDPE casings

3,090 lf of French under-drain system
-
Installation of 457,536 SF of conductive HDPE liner & leak detection system.

Installation of shoring & dewatering systems
-
Installation of sumps, pipe, culverts & manholes

Ditches, roads, parking with sub-base compaction, filter fabric and stone surfacing

168,418 CY of mass earthwork for the cut & fill of the three brine ponds

Seeding, hydro-mulching, re-vegetation of 12.7 acres
